New to Stagecoach?
Whether you're new to Stagecoach teaching or would just like a refresh on great practice, this one day workshop for teachers, teaching assistants, managers and Principals explores theory and practice through engaging activities and professional conversations to support excellence in performing arts teaching and learning the 'Stagecoach Way'!
This day of development is a foundation to performing arts teaching at Stagecoach Schools.
Lunch and refreshments are provided for this workshop - please do stay for lunch to network with colleagues.
You may wish to extend your understanding of how to facilitate Stagecoach Performing Arts Education by engaging with our follow up day: Explore... Great Teaching is also known as Stagecoach Foundations 2. This one day workshop builds on the skills and knowledge gained in Stagecoach Foundations 1.

Jo Howson BA (Hons) MSc QTS
Educational Programme Development and Training Manager - Stagecoach Performing Arts
Jo Howson was Head of Drama of at a school in East London for a number of years and holds over 10 years of teaching experience. She has won the national GTC Teacher award for Excellence in Professional Development and the Jack Petchy Award for Outstanding Service to Young People. She holds Qualified Teacher Status, a Distinction from a Masters Degree course in Performance Research from Central School of Speech and Drama and a First Class Degree in Literature and Theatre Studies from the University of Warwick. Jo is passionate about teaching that helps students realise the value of their own creativity. Drama can help challenge students' perceptions about themselves and the world around them and celebrate both the successes and failures in performance, helping the students to grow. She believes outstanding Drama teaching equips students with a joy and confidence that radiates in every role, character or part they play. This can be life-changing!

Stagecoach Performing Arts Creative Educational Programme Development and Training Executive
Chase was originally a Stagecoach Student himself. He has been teaching within the Stagecoach network for many years; teaching a combination of Early stages, Main Stages and Further Stages Classes. As well as being a passionate Stagecoach Teacher, Chase is also part of the Stagecoach Education team at Head office where he is Head of Dance. Chase is dedicated to ensuring that all Stagecoach students get the best possible learning experience.
