Explore... Singing & Musicianship

Specifically aimed at Classroom Music Teachers and Vocal Specialists this three hour exploration (with one hour of personal reflection and development off-line) helps to develop skills in supporting collaborative (and fun!) face to face and online learning in singing. This session also supports musicianship teaching for countries and regions where singing is not currently permitted because of the Covid-19 pandemic

Whether you're new to teaching or would just like a refresh on great practice, this remote workshop explores theory and practice through engaging activities and professional conversations to support excellence in vocal teaching and learning! There will be an opportunity to network, share ideas and gain new contacts in your specialism.

Subjects to be covered include:

  • Breaking down the steps to fast and effective song teaching
  • Supporting steps to learning and links to progressive frameworks
  • Pedagogy of vocal development and musicianship
  • Use of play and games as tools for learning
  • Improving the quality of sound - pitch, timbre and dynamics
  • Supporting students who are finding their voices
  • Ways into part-singing
  • Inclusive practice in teaching Performing Arts in a Covid-safe classroom in venue and on Zoom

Please contact Education@stagecoach.co.uk to find out about discounted and subsidised rates for Stagecoach Teachers, Stagecoach Alumni, members of ABCD and ISM and performers whose employment has been affected by the pandemic.
