An exploration of great singing teaching practice in the face-to-face and remote classroom

Specifically aimed at Classroom Music Teachers and Vocal Specialists this three hour exploration (with one hour of personal reflection and development off-line) helps to develop skills in supporting collaborative (and fun!) face to face and online learning in singing. This session also supports musicianship teaching for countries and regions where singing is not currently permitted because of the Covid-19 pandemic
Whether you're new to teaching or would just like a refresh on great practice, this remote workshop explores theory and practice through engaging activities and professional conversations to support excellence in vocal teaching and learning! There will be an opportunity to network, share ideas and gain new contacts in your specialism.

Louisa Roberts B.Ed. (Hons) FRSA FCCT
Stagecoach Performing Arts Head of Educational Programmes and Training
Louisa has an extensive educational background as an Early Years specialist, Music Teacher and Head of Department in UK schools and most recently as an Assistant Headteacher. Her musical studies have included violin, viola, piano and voice. As a trained practitioner in Kodály methodology, she studied musicianship under David Vinden at the British Kodály Academy. She sings Soprano in a number of chamber vocal ensembles including Sine Nomine International Touring Choir and The Joyful Company of Singers.
Facilitating continuing professional development and mentor training previously as an Area Leader with Trinity College London, Guildhall, The Open University, Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA), Sing for Pleasure, the Voices Foundation and music hubs, she has devised and delivered workshops, mentored and supported teachers, education leaders and performers and directed children's choirs throughout the world for over 20 years.

A triple threat musical theatre performer, Gabrielle 'Bree' Smith’s stage credits include roles in Evita (Regents Park Open Air Theatre); Dick Whittington (Theatre Royal Stratford East); West Side Story (Royal Exchange Theatre); The Book of Mormon (Prince of Wales Theatre); Scrooge the Musical (Leicester Curve Theatre); Wonderland (UK Tour); Eugenius! (London Palladium) and The Olivier Awards. Bree facilitated a number of lesson series for the www.stagecoachathome.com Online Learning Studio during the Covid Pandemic supporting performing arts learning for students all over the world. We're excited to announce that she is joining the new Stagecoach Performing Arts Online ADPA in October 2020 to share her expertise in singing teaching.
