Stagecoach Associate Diploma in Teaching Performing Arts (ADPA)

For performing arts professionals looking to develop skills in teaching children and young people

6 - 12 months part-time accredited programme

It’s not unusual for a young person’s dedication for the performing arts to have grown out of one teacher’s influence. We have seen many inspirational teachers whose passion and energy have set their subject alight for their students in a life-changing way.

Children and young people deserve the best possible teaching we can give them in order to discover that learning is fun, that learning is great and that a passion for the performing arts can last a lifetime! This is why we have set up this unique teaching developmental programme specifically aimed at performing arts professionals.

ADPA Online Learning Diploma Programme:

Be Unstoppable - designed for those who are passionate about sharing their gifts in singing, dance, drama or musical theatre and who are looking for recognition in their teaching practice.

Be Inspired - follow a core online programme in a virtual learning environment with specialist guest practitioners and experienced educationalists.

Be Supported - the Stagecoach Education Team will guide you throughout the programme and you’ll have your own personal mentor, a coaching group and regular cohort check-ins.

Enjoy Flexibility - a six month part-time programme with access to high quality Stagecoach professional development opportunities and resources. Study around work, family and personal commitments.

Become Accredited - the supported programme incorporates the RSL Level 4 Professional Diploma (Teacher Pathway) qualification.

Inspiration & Close Support

This engaging and highly interactive developmental teaching programme - spaced over the period of two terms -  is facilitated by the Stagecoach Performing Arts Education Team and invited specialist speakers for exclusive presentations and Q&As.

We promise inspirational facilitation, a safe, inclusive environment, exciting relevant learning experiences, an individualised programme journey, collegiality within a supported coaching group, one-to-one mentoring and a great deal of fun!

Gain an Internationally Recognised Qualification

Completing our online learning programme will not only improve your classroom practice, it will earn you a Level 4 Professional Diploma in teaching. The qualification is awarded by Rockschool and is recognised in over 40 countries worldwide. The teaching diploma is regulated by Ofqual, benchmarked at undergraduate degree level in the UK, and has worldwide recognition.

The RSL Level 4 Professional Diploma (DipRSL) is gained through a reflective programme spanning a term with the flexibility and support to study around your job, family and commitments. We recognise that everyone develops at a different pace with varied starting points - we can support you whatever your level of experience in improving your practice and gaining an accredited qualification.

Building Your Portfolio

Throughout the programme you will be supported in shaping and reflecting upon your teaching practice to compliment the learning taking place in your classroom. Programme participants build a digital portfolio which will be the basis of assessment for the Level 4 Professional Diploma.

Your collection of evidence can take the form of video presentations, podcasts and written work (max of 1000 words per topic and the total audio/visual evidence must not exceed 10 minutes per topic except Section 2’s teaching video submission).
