BBC Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2022 Finalist, Malin Lewis, is a piper, fiddler, highly talented composer and instrument maker from the West coast of Scotland. They are joined by acclaimed musicians Luc McNally (Bouzouki) and Chloë Bryce (fiddle).

Malin's music is inspired by everything they are exposed to in life. Most recently they have been studying folk music in Helsinki and learning the traditions of the extinct Finnish Bagpipes. They play an eclectic mixture of original compositions and traditional tunes from all across Europe.

Luc McNally is a guitarist and singer from Dipton, County Durham. His music has taken him all over the country as well as Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and the Czech Republic.

Having played traditional music for 4 years with Kathryn Tickell’s Folkestra Youth ensemble, he went on to study Scottish Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

As well as with Malin Makes Music, Luc has performed extensively with Iona Fyfe, Dosca, Sketch, Eddie Seaman and Snuffbox.

Fiddler Chloë Bryce is an emerging talent in Scotland's folk scene. An individual capable of captivating audiences through her soulful interpretations of traditional Scottish music, she has honed a musical voice of startling maturity despite her age. Brought up a Gaelic speaker in the Northern Highlands, her music is informed by a deep regard for the old tunes and songs embedded in her native culture. Whether playing old traditional material or her own compositions, she extends the same care and intimacy to every note she plays.
