Fun and Creativity through Film
Monday, 28th October 2019
BFI Southbank London
Our exclusive BFI film course runs over five days. It's designed for both beginners to film and for those that have a basic understanding of how to put a film together. The focus is on fun and creativity through film using equipment that most children will already have access to.
Participants must be aged between 11-13 years old. They will be contacted beforehand to communicate the Film theme that they will be exploring.
The week long course will allow participants to explore filmmaking, both in front and behind the camera.
They will explore various technique masterclasses throughout the week which may feature in the final film:
The overall outcome of the week, other than the finished film, is focused around the participants having fun whilst learning new techniques. They should learn to work as a team and to contribute ideas creatively. They will take risks, trying roles that are out of their comfort zone and ultimately communicating a story/ idea to an audience through the medium of film.
Parents are invited to the screening on Friday afternoon and also the certificate presentation.
There is no need to provide/bring equipment. Each group will shoot their film on a BFI iPad with editing being done on iMovie on BFI Macs.
N.b Lunch is not included. Students are required to bring their own packed lunch every day.
The films the students' work to create, will be screened for friends and family on Friday 1 November in NFT2 Screen at the BFI Southbank!
